Latest update with Iran and Israel

North Korea did steal the spotlight from Iraq and specially Iran, but here it is coming back again to Iran after the Iranian president announced earlier there is no reason for Israel “the greatest insult to human dignity” to exist and it would soon disappear.

Halutz also warned Israel to prepare for possible war with Syria, whose missle threat to Israel’s population is similar to that of Hizbollah, if not worse.

Another of Iranian president speeches was delieverd Friday to a pro-Palestanian rally marking the Islami Republic’s “Al Qods Day” (Jerusalem Liberation Day). In further inflammatory remarks, Ahmadinejad said “the world knows the US and Britain are enemies of the Iranian nation”. He warned European nations not to harm Iran, saying that if anger in the region bioled ovre, Europe would get hurt because of it’s support for Israe. “Europe must distance itself from Israel at once. That is Iran’s ultiumatum. “He went on to brand the UN security councel and its decisions “illegitimate”.

Two events have followed with Ahmadinejad speech:

With all of that happening, the security council will meet next week to discuss a form of sanctions against Iran for refusing to desist from enriching uranium.

In my opinion, I think Iran is playing a publicity game to not be neglected by superior nations. But that publicity game might drag on into more serious issues.

Iran is claiming they are after nuclear for its energy and nothing else, but who are we fooling here? Iran has more oil than any other country out there. Yes, it is a beneficial thing to acquire, but why with this attitude?

Ahmadinejad claims Israel soon will disappear, and guess what: We heard that identical speech in 1948, and nothing happened since then.

Once again, it is a publicity game.
